BP Angola is currently working in close collaboration with Angola’s National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels and partners to improve access to primary and secondary education through the rehabilitation and reconstruction of rural schools across the country.
As part of its efforts, the British supermajor is funding a program to train rural teachers, as well as an internship program that equips young and recent graduates with the skills to enter professional life.
According to Adalberto Fernandes, Government and Political Affairs Manager of BP Angola, the COVID-19 pandemic also lies at the center of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) strategy of the company, which has various other CSR projects underway across sectors and provinces.
BP has been present in Angola since the 1970’s and represents one of the largest foreign investors in the country. The company operates Blocks 18 and 31, as well as holds non-operated interest in Blocks 15, 17, 20 and the Angola LNG plant in Soyo.
