Multinational energy company, bp, has signed a three-year contract with deepwater services company, DeepTech, for the delivery of rig support remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services at the West Nile Delta development, offshore Egypt.
Under the agreement, which includes an extension option, two work class ROVs in support of drilling, completion and subsea activities will be delivered to the development project. The first will be installed on a deepwater drillship, while the second will be connected to a platform supply vessel to support drilling activities.
“This latest endorsement solidifies our position in the Mediterranean, demonstrating DeepTech’s proven capabilities in delivering ROV services and solutions to Egypt and worldwide,” stated DeepTech Oil Services Managing Director, Ahmed Soliman. “The drilling activities will be supported from our Alexandria shore base and will significantly contribute to local content and energy security in the region.”
The nine-billion-dollar West Nile Delta development includes 25 wells across five gas fields within the North Alexandria and West Mediterranean Deepwater offshore concession blocks. The project, which is poised to produce approximately 1.4 billion cubic feet of gas per day, is connected to an onshore processing facility through three long-distance tie-backs.
