Houston-based engineering company KBR on Tuesday announced that its United Kingdom operating subsidiary, KBR UK, has been awarded pre-front-end engineering and design (Pre-FEED) contracts for phases two and three of the Grand Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) project, for which first productions are scheduled for 2022.
Located at the maritime border of Senegal and Mauritania, phase 1 of the GTA project is said to start imminently. Further developments in subsequent phases aim to significantly enhance gas production capacity from the ultra-deep-water subsea system, connected to mid-water gas processing platforms.
