International energy company Azule Energy has completed the Quiluma and Maboqueiro offshore platforms in Angola. Forming part of the New Gas Consortium (NGC) development – Angola’s first non-associated gas project – the platforms will harness gas resources from the Quiluma and Maboqueiro shallow water fields.
The NGC project features the construction of two offshore platform and an onshore gas processing plant. The Quiluma deck has been loaded out, sailing away from the Ambriz Petromar Yard. Targeting first gas by early-2026, the NGC will provide feedstock for the Angola LNG plant, boosting the country’s LNG capacity and strengthening exports.
Azule Energy’s COO Alister Forder stated that the milestone “is a reflection of the collaborative spirit, technical expertise and dedication of all partners involved in the NGC project. As we prepare for NGC first gas, this project reaffirms our commitment to unlocking Angola’s energy potential and contributing to a sustainable energy future.”
