Australian minerals company Aura Energy intends to increase measured and indicated resources from 34% to over 50% after a 10,000-meter infill drilling project kicks off this month. Located at its Tiris Uranium Project – a major greenfield mine in Mauritania – the project represents the biggest drilling program on Tiris deposits to-date and is a major milestone for Aura Energy.
The company also aims to increase measured and indicated resources and to re-evaluate exploration targets to boost uranium and vanadium resource estimates. “The upgrade will be undertaken concurrently with the fast-tracked development of the ~800,000 lb uranium oxide Tiris Project,” says Aura Energy Acting CEO, Dr Will Goodall, adding that the project is key to the company’s overall strategy to move from uranium explorer to producer in a responsible way that ensures value and sustainability for local Mauritanian people and the company’s shareholders.
