In 2020, Angola seeks to drive frontier exploration through its upcoming offshore licensing round in the Kwanza and Congo basins, as well as optimize existing resources through three recent block extensions and phased development of short-cycle satellite fields. Downstream, Angola is spearheading the construction of several new refineries to refine 425,000 barrels per day by 2025, along with a natural gas processing facility in Soyo, which serves as the country’s first independent gas field development and a bid to achieve ambitious power objectives set out by Angola Energy 2025 Vision.
