Angola inaugurated a visa and investment center in Nigeria’s city of Port Harcourt on April 2. The center promotes cross-border business and tourism by providing visa, transport, accommodation and investment support for Nigerian nationals.
Developed through a partnership comprising the Embassy of Angola in Nigeria and private firm Akwa Helmes International Limited, the center supports travel between Angola and Nigeria. Additionally, the center provides support for hotel reservations, ticket sales and air connectivity to destinations operated by Angola’s national airline carrier TAAG.
Meanwhile, the center is expected to support business opportunities in the oil and gas industry. Located in the Niger Delta – Nigeria’s petroleum and petrochemical hub –, Port Harcourt features two oil refineries, two seaports, as well as numerous oil and gas training facilities. According to the embassy, the center will connect this industry to Angola by supporting bilateral trade and commerce.
