SPIE Global Services Energy has signed a five-year maintenance contract with Angola’s national oil company, Sonangol, for Block 3/05 offshore Angola.
The contract, which began in September 2024, covers general maintenance operations, including servicing electrical and mechanical equipment, as well as heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems across the Cobo, Pacassa and Palanca production platforms. It also includes the maintenance of turbomachinery, instrumentation and automation systems.
According to Jerome M. Oliveira, Sub-Saharan Africa Business Unit Director at SPIE Global Services Energy, the company’s strong commitment to local content development played a key role in securing the agreement. SPIE established a training center in Angola in 2022 and had trained 256 employees by early 2024. The company is targeting 85% local employment by the end of the contract term.
