Angola’s national oil company Sonangol will continue its light well intervention program in offshore Block 3/05, which aims to improve the reliability of facilities in the block while optimizing oil production.
Announced by upstream oil and gas company Afentra in a mid-year results update, the upgrade program will also target higher water injection rates and improve on the peak injection rate of roughly 60,000 barrels of water per day achieved in April.
The program will also see the installation of new gas flare meters, the development of electric submersible pump installations, the identification of potential drilling prospects and the assessment of associated gas management.
