Angola and Nigeria have formalized a bilateral partnership to enhance electricity generation and water supply. The partnership will focus on infrastructure development and management.
With a focus on providing potable water, enhanced irrigation farming and advancing economic development, both nations will share technical expertise on projects related to water supply and electricity generation.
“Nigeria is very keen to support Angola’s domestic and foreign aspirations and the country’s overall development, and we expect reciprocity in this regard,” said Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris.
Meanwhile, Angola’s Ambassador to Nigeria Dr. José Bamoquina noted Angola’s potential to export electricity to neighboring countries. This falls in line with the country’s economic diversification strategy and will allow Angola to leverage its resources for socioeconomic development.
