Angolan President João Lourenço has assumed the rotating Presidency of the African Union for 2025, committing to realizing the objectives set out by the union’s Agenda 2063. This includes enhancing strategic partnerships, maximizing opportunities created through the African Continental Free Trade Area and strengthening the agriculture sector.
Agenda 2063 is a blueprint for transforming the continent into the global powerhouse of the future. The framework prioritizes sustainable development by fostering regional integration and inclusive social and economic development.
In his address at the African Union Assembly this week, President Lourenço emphasized collaboration as the cornerstone of achieving Agenda 2063 goals. He urged members to “find collective solutions for collective problems.”
