Alegria’s upstream regulator the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources has outlined specifications for the first tender in a series of licensing rounds scheduled over a five-year period.
The tender offers exploration and production opportunities across six onshore blocks. Four blocks – M’Zaid, Ahara, Reggane II and Zerafa II – will be available through production sharing contracts. Two blocks, Toual and Kern El-Kassa, will be available through participation agreements.
Access to tender documents and data rooms will be open on November 26, with the deadline for bid submissions set for April 15, 2025. Following a detailed evaluation, contracts will be awarded in Algiers on May 29, 2025.
Spanning a cumulative perimeter size of 152,000km2, the onshore blocks are supported by over 102,000-line-km of 2D seismic data and over 45,000km2 of 3D seismic data.
Potential bidders will receive access to perimeter conditioned data packages and evergreened data packages during an access period from November 26, 2024, to April 1, 2025.
The bid round will be governed by Law 13-19, which establishes the criteria for the prequalification of upstream players operating in Algeria’s hydrocarbons sector.
