Algeria has delivered 30,000 tons of fuel to Lebanon to supply power plants and restore electricity to the country amid an ongoing fuel crisis.
Sonatrach, Algeria‘s national oil company, dispatched the fuel cargo aboard its oil tanker In Ecker on August 22, with the shipment reaching the port of Tripoli in northern Lebanon on August 27.
“This initiative underscores Algeria’s unwavering commitment to supporting the Lebanese people during their difficult times and reflects the humanitarian and solidarity spirit that defines the relationship between Algeria and Lebanon, further strengthening the bonds of cooperation and fraternity between the two nations,” Sonatrach said in a statement.
The fuel shipment, produced at Sonatrach’s Skikda refinery, is noted for its high energy quality and low sulfur content.
