Across the continent, African countries are doubling down on investments in scalable renewable energy, capitalizing on raw resource potential and buttressed by government-led initiatives to promote clean energy use. Large-scale renewable projects not only target enhanced economic development with widespread access to electricity, but also regional power industries that can compete in the global arena. Countries including South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Senegal, Kenya and Ethiopia are leading the pack when it comes to a high degree of renewable penetration within their respective domestic energy mix.
