Oil and gas exploration company Africa Energy Corp. – through its subsidiary Main Street – has officially become the operator of Block 11B/12B, offshore South Africa.
The company is currently acquiring key technical data, including drilling, reservoir and development engineering information, from the previous operator. Additionally, the Environmental and Social Impact Report is being finalized and is expected to be submitted in Q1 2025.
Main Street holds a 10% interest in Block 11B/12B. The company anticipates holding 100% interest in Block11B/12B, following the withdrawal of joint venture partners announced on July 29, 2024, and pending regulatory approvals from South African authorities.
