International engineering and supply firm Acrow will supply 186 modular steel bridges to Angola as part of the company’s Bridge Development Program – an initiative that supports the development of bridges and road-related infrastructure across Africa.
The financing arrangements for the initiative were formalized in May and are set to enhance Angola’s road and transportation infrastructure nationwide while supporting local capacity building and employment.
“We recognize the profound impact of high-quality infrastructure on communities,” stated Acrow CEO Bill Killeen. “We are privileged to support Africa in modernizing its transportation infrastructure, fostering economic growth and regional integration.”
The structures will be installed throughout the country by Angolan engineers, technicians and contractors who will receive training from Acrow in the assembly, installation and maintenance of the bridges.
“For decades, Acrow has been dedicated to transformative infrastructure development in Africa. Our integrated approach – bridges, finance, training – positions us as a key partner for complex projects,” stated Acrow President of International Business Paul Sullivan.
The Bridge Development Program in Angola is financed by international finance institution Standard Chartered Bank with support from export credit agency the Export-Import Bank of the United States.
