50 MW Solar Project to be Constructed in Ivory Coast

Renewable energy company Kong Solaire signed an MoU with Ivory Coast’s Ministry of Mines, Petroleum and Energy to construct a 50 MW solar power plant in the Tchologo region in Ivory Coast.

Developed under a public-private partnership, the 37 billion CFA Francs plant is set to commence operations in Q3 2026, creating 70 jobs during the construction phase and 230 direct and indirect jobs during operation. The project will be wholly financed by Kong Solaire, with the company assuming full ownership and operatorship.

The initiative follows the April 2024 inauguration of Ivory Coast’s first solar plant in Boundiali, with 15 additional solar projects totaling 650 MW currently under study or development, slated for operation between 2025 and 2027.
