Gabon’s Ministry of Oil, Gas, Hydrocarbons and Mines has announced that the new date for the submission of oil exploration bids offshore Gabon will be 30 June, 2021. The campaign comprises the country’s twelfth tender in both shallow and deep-water blocks, where 35 oil blocks will be presented.
Following the postponement of the call for tenders in April 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the new date has enabled the resumption of exploration activities in Gabon by establishing a competitive and attractive bidding round.
“In view of the evolution of sanitary conditions towards a normal resumption of activities, I inform all national and international oil companies that the new closing date for the submission of tenders is set for June 20, 2021. I invite the oil companies interested in acquiring oil blocks identified in the twelfth bidding to kindly submit their offers on the terms defined on the dedicated website,” states Vincent de Paul Massassa, Minister of Oil, Gas, Hydrocarbons and Mines, Gabon.
Despite ongoing COVID-19 restrictions in Gabon, the call for tenders demonstrates that Gabon is officially open for business and is inviting all stakeholders to participate in this highly anticipated bidding round.
