*This information is distributed on behalf of the Ugandan Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development

Uganda’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development has extended the Request for Qualification (RFQ) for its second oil licensing round, which includes competitive bidding for five highly prospective oil exploration blocks in the Albertine Graben: Avivi, Omuka, Kasuruban, Turaco and Ngaji.

The extension has been necessitated to allow more time for interested parties to prepare their applications.

All potential and interested parties for the second licensing round are hereby informed of a slight adjustment of timelines for the schedule of activities in the RFQ stage. Upon evaluation of the applications, the successful firms/consortia will be issued with bidding documents comprising the model production sharing agreement and data sale regulations.
